The stretch of sea of the reserve has been identified as a Site of Community Interest called “Seabed of Taormina – Isola Bella” characterized by underwater meadows of Posidonia oceanica The coasts of Taormina and Giardini Naxos are among the most beautiful in Sicily, rich in caves, stacks , bays, gulfs, marine fauna and flora. The coast is located on the Ionian side of Sicily, facing the Strait of Messina and dominated by the imposing volcano Etna, the largest in Europe. While hiking, their natural beauty lends itself to photography and video enthusiasts in an extraordinary way.
The excursion takes place along the coast along the bay of Giardin Naxos, to continue towards Capo Taormina where it is possible to observe colonies of corals attached to the rock. The tour continues towards the Isola Bella of Taormina, where once you arrive you can dive into the splendid turquoise waters of this bay, you can bring fins and a mask to admire the wonderful seabed, and where a soft drink floating in the water will be served, once you get back up. you can enjoy delicious almond pastries, a typical Sicilian dessert. You will continue for a visit among the most famous caves: Blue Grotto, the Lovers’ Grotto, the Emerald Grotto, the bay of San Nicola and the rock of Fico, towards the Bay of Mazzarò and the Bay of the Sirens. At the end of the excursion, we will continue to return to the starting point.
