A direct excursion to Mount Etna, Europe’s highest volcano at 3,350 metres, and a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2013.
Departure by coach with a tour leader, arriving at the Etna station at 1,900 metres.
Stop and free time available for a gentle hike at your own pace, visiting the most recent lava flows and the now-extinct Silvestri craters.
Ascent by cable car to 2,500 metres and an optional onward journey aboard powerful off-road vehicles (4×4 buses) to the maximum permitted altitude, assisted by authorised mountain guides from the CAI (Italian Alpine Club).
Stop to admire the activity of the summit craters from a safe area.
Warm clothing and suitable footwear are recommended.
The tour will continue with a journey through the flavours and typical local produce of Zafferana Etnea.
Etna at 2,500 metres: transfer by bus to an altitude of 1,900 metres; from there, our tour leader, after arranging for your entry tickets to be issued – thus avoiding long queues and waits at the ticket office – will accompany you to the entrance. You will then continue up to 2,500 metres using the cable car service.
